Space Rental
Painting at home can be amazing, but it can also be tough to get everything set up, or kept neat.
I offer the space for rentt o students once they can paint somewhat neatly and can be trusted to keep the space nice. Generally this is Post block 4.
What You Get
The space is always set up for students to come in and work. Unlike a typical share space, it's exclusively for the Academy students.
This means: No cleaning up after others paint spills, no power tool noise or dust from sculptors, lights that are set up for oil painting.
You also get additional storage for your paintings (Brushes are still to be kept at home ).
As a bonus: When others are around, we have an in built amazing community.
Free use of coffee machine
You’ll have 24 hour access to the space. This will be using a fob system.
With any full access: Uninstructed Life drawing sessions are free.
Most hot-desk rates are around $45/hr or $700/month. So this is a massive discount. And everything is pre-set up.
These prices are for the space usage and does not include feedback. I want people to encourage and help one another, and I of course will also help people here and there. But it is not a set of structured classes though, and instruction should not be expected.
Package Options
The options I’m offering at the moment are:
Full access, All year, Lump sum: $4,750.
This rounds to 400/month. This payment is non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
Full access, All year, Month to Month: $500 per month. Can be paused between payments. Cannot be paused mid month (ie. It's just like your house rent).
1 Week access: $155.
All gear must be taken home at the end of the week
1 day access: $75
(Note: must be booked 24 hours in advance). A code is used instead of a fob. All gear must be taken home at the end of the Day. The code will be valid from 12am-11:59pm.
Basic Rules
No heavy metals without prior consent from Obe (Lead, Mercury, Cobalt, Cadmium)
I don’t mind if you bring someone into the space to show them your work, or if you are bringing in models etc, but it is not a space for them to work.
The space should look identical when you leave it. No mess on easels. Bins tidied
This is currently exclusive to Art Academy students who are past block 4.
When you join, you must have an orientation with Obe to ensure that you can use the space in a way that does not impact others.
You can still join during class time, but you will not be given feedback. You may also find that you need to move if someone needs a still life seat.
